Last week I decided to hand in my resignation at PeopleSoft/Oracle. I had been debating whether to leave for the last few weeks. I had actually requested to be let go as part of the layoffs, but Oracle decided to keep me on. That meant having to choose to stay on with a company that I had been fighting for the last 18 months or walk away with no severance. I chose the latter because I felt it was time for a change in my life.
I plan to take a break for a while to help in deciding what to do next. I feel very fortunate to have this time – I have worked full time for the last 9 years (4 with PeopleSoft) with little more than a week or two between jobs. I look forward to spending more time with my family, catching up with old friends and finding some great opportunities.
Good luck, David…keep in touch and keep us (Microsoft) in mind ; )
